Land of the Brave’s debut

2019-01-29  : With only 67 days in training under the girth since auction, Land of the Brave stepped out for his debut at the Vaal over 1000m yesterday. Jumping from gate 2 and making his run on the inside dead strip where no horse did anything but go backwards on the day, he put in a solid effort after a slow start to finish 7 lengths off the winner in a hot-paced, strung out field. Just behind him was the R1.5mil short favourite Atiaaf (formerly Winter in Ireland) who also had to contend with the death row strip and suffered the same fate.
Land of the Brave is a 2yr old colt by What a Winter out of Niyabah (IRE) (Nashwan (USA))
